SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2026

The best time of year is finally here! The Summer Reading Program is here and with a fun theme: Unearth A Story. It invites readers to dig into a good book, uncover hidden histories, or explore the past. It also emphasizes that every person and every community have stories waiting to be found and shared through books, programs, and local knowledge.

The Dunkerton Public Library has a fun array of programs, summer Storytimes, and DIY summer craft packs for the community to enjoy! Ranging from exotic animals, geode events, The Grout Museum, SOAR (Saving Our Avian Resources) which are bringing a hawk and an owl! Our Summer Storytimes will be held every Wednesday at 9:30AM with a fun lineup of book and a fun activity to do afterwards. We also offer DIY craft packs, with a new one brought out each week! They are located in the children's section of the library.
